Jungle Sensory Bin

Our most recent sensory bin we've been playing with is jungle animals! My son is starting to say the names of the animals, so I thought this would be a good reinforcement.

The materials I used include dry oatmeal for the base, a jungle animal play set ($3.00 at Walmart), and a cutout circle for a pond. I used scrapbook paper that looks like water.

He really enjoyed playing in it until the oatmeal started flying. Then it was time for clean-up!

Outdoor Plant Exploration, Flower Graph, and 200 Followers

I am so excited, I just reached 200 followers! Sorry, I am not having a giveaway this time. I do want to thank each and everyone of my followers and especially those who visit regularly and link up. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Here are some photos of the students exploring plants they found outside in the woods area. We used magnifying glasses to take a closer look.

Then, the kids drew what they saw on our mini clipboards.

Here is the graph we did about our favorite flower. I just cut these pictures out of old magazines. Each child wrote their name under the one they liked best. I also took notes on what each child said about why that flower was their favorite.

Texture Book

We made texture books a couple of weeks ago. Very simple idea. Here are some photos of things we put in them. The children glued whatever they wanted in it and then we dictated as they described what it was or what it felt like.

Flower Craft with Cupcake Liner

Here is what you need to make the flower: cupcake liners, tissue paper squares, green pipe cleaners, and cut out petals.

Here are the children gluing them together.

We used green glitter paint for the grass and gold for the sun.

I stapled the stems on as the glue doesn't hold well.

 Here are the finished products:
