T.E.A.C.H Awards

Here are my picks for January. Congrats to those who were chosen. There are so many great posts within a month, that is very difficult to choose winners. I may have to start choosing 2 or even 3 for each category. Thanks to you all for being so awesome! Also, don't forget to nominate a fellow blogger's post that you think is extraordinary and fits into one of the T.E.A.C.H. categories for next month!

T.E.A.C.H. Featured Posts/Pins

I am starting a new feature. Once a month I will be highlighting 5 blog posts or pins from Pinterest, one from each of the following categories: T-thrifty, E-educational, A-artsy, C-creative, and H-hands-on. Keep in mind, the nominees will not be a person or a whole blog, but a specific posting on a blog or a pin on Pinterest.

Here is a basic overview of how I will choose a blog post or pin in each category. I am open and flexible, so I probably won't stick strictly to this criteria. It just gives me a good place to start. If you would like to recommend a blog post or pin for a specific category, feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me!

Thrifty: An idea or activity that saves money or uses free/inexpensive materials such as recycled items.
Educational: Relates to content standards in one or more of the following areas: Math, Science, Social Studies, and/or Language and Literacy.
Artsy: Shows use of imagination to create something unique
Creative: A unique or different idea, thinking outside the box
Hands-On: An activity that gets children involved and engaged by physically touching or manipulating objects to help them better understand a concept or master a skill

Here are my picks for December:

Thrifty:
Model Christmas Village by NurtureStore

Educational:
Preschool Retelling Activity by Brenna Phillips

Artsy:
Replicating Monet by Relentlessly Fun, Deceptively Educational

Creative:
Curtain Hook Portfolio Display by Stephanie Sanchez

Hands-On:
Pencil Grip Pipe Cleaners by The Vegetarian Mom

If you were featured, please feel free to grab the button below. I recommend linking the button to this post so that your readers can see what you were featured for. Congrats!

Also, I just realized these buttons are kinda big, so if you would like a smaller version, here they are:

My Memories Software Giveaway!!!

I am hosting a giveaway sponsored by My Memories. They have an award winning digital scrapbook software that is extremely easy and fun to use. My Memories Suite helps anyone create digital scrapbooks, cards, calendars, etc. without having to buy expensive programs and then learn how to use the software.

The contest will go until Tues Sept. 13, 2011 and the winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator at random.org. So in order to win the My Memories Suite software, here are the ways to enter: (make sure you post a comment for each one and that your e-mail is on at least one of your comments in order to contact you if you win!)
  1. Become a follower of this blog (or let me know if you already are)
  2. Follow Cacheymama on Twitter (or let me know if you already follow me) and leave your Twitter name in the comment
  3. Write a post on your blog about the giveaway (leave the URL of your post in the comment)
  4. Comment about your favorite scrapbook layout in the My Memories gallery
My Memories wants to get the word out that their software is not just for scrapbooking. Get creative and use your teacher skills to come up with all kinds of projects. Here are some examples of a few things I have created with My Memories Suite software...

Block Area Labels

Cute nametags!

They have the cutest scrapbook layouts or you can create your own custom page from scratch. So many graphics, fonts, and layouts to chose from, but if you don't see exactly what you want, they also have kits and layouts you can purchase online! How great is that?

My Memories has graciously agreed to give all my readers a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store!!! Just use the code STMMMS8389.
